Best Small Business Accountants in Easton, MA (2026)

Seven accounting firms with an office in the town of Easton — North Easton and South Easton — and what each one's own website says it offers a small business.

Disclosure: Murphy Accounting wrote this list and placed itself first. That is our choice about our own website, not an independent rating. Every other firm was checked against its own website on the date shown; we have no business relationship with any of them, and the order they appear in says nothing about their quality.

Facts checked September 23, 2026

Easton has more accounting firms than most towns its size, and they are not interchangeable. Some are CPA practices that also perform audits; one is led by enrolled agents; two are regional firms with an Easton branch. Which fits depends on whether you need monthly bookkeeping, a tax return, an audit, or someone to call about all three.

We have not used any of these firms and cannot speak to their work. Each entry says what the firm says it does, so you can shortlist and ask.

How we chose

  • An office in Easton. A street address in North Easton, South Easton or Easton on the firm's own website.
  • Small-business services on its own site. Accounting, bookkeeping or business tax work listed as a service.
  • Facts only. Credentials are shown only as the firm states them. No ratings, review counts or prices.

Which kind of firm do you need?

  • Monthly books and a tax return that agrees with them: a firm that does ongoing bookkeeping and tax together.
  • An audit or review for a lender, investor or board: a CPA firm that performs attest work — and not the same firm that keeps your books.
  • An IRS notice or back taxes: a firm whose people can represent you. Ask which credential they hold.
  • Growth decisions: a firm that meets with you regularly, not only at filing time.

General information, not advice for your specific situation. Tax rules, prices and product features change, and firms change what they offer — check with the provider before relying on anything here, and talk to us or another qualified professional before acting on it.

Questions

Choosing an accountant in Easton

What is the difference between a CPA and an enrolled agent?
A CPA is licensed by a state board of accountancy and can perform audits. An enrolled agent is licensed by the IRS and specializes in tax. Both can represent taxpayers before the IRS.
How can I check an accountant's license?
Massachusetts CPA licenses can be checked with the state's Board of Public Accountancy, and the IRS publishes a directory of preparers with credentials. Our list of questions to ask before hiring an accountant links to both.
Do I need an accountant in Easton, or can I work with someone remotely?
Most bookkeeping and tax work can be done remotely. A local firm is still useful if you want to meet in person or hand over paper records.
